  4. CATT Marketing Funnel
  5. Integrated Digital Marketing
  6. Personal Branding

So let’s get started…

1. THE FUNDAMENTALS OF MARKETING

First, let’s understand the meaning of Marketing:-

Marketing is all about generating revenue by selling commodities that meet customer’s needs. It is the root of all businesses. It starts before creating a product(i.e. it starts from discovering a customer’s need and built a product that fits their needs) and continues even after the customer purchased the product.

The purpose of marketing is to capture the attention of the target market and persuading the customer to buy the product. A successful marketer develops trust with customers and maintains a healthy-long relationship with them. Before marketing any product/service, a marketer should ensure the quality of his product/service. It’s because when the product is of great quality it will sell itself. You need not invest more money for its marketing.

2. DIGITAL MARKETING v/s TRADITIONAL MARKETING

Though digital marketing is evolving but we can’t say that traditional marketing has gone outdated because today also TV ads and radios have a large reach.

Both marketing methods have their own pros and cons. It depends on the products, cost, and customer reach, based on which the marketers choose the method. Some organizations choose to use both methods.

Here are some basic differences between digital marketing and traditional marketing:

1. Digital marketing means marketing of products/services using online platforms such as display ads, Facebook ads, video ads, etc. whereas Traditional marketing means marketing of products/services using traditional media such as newspapers, radio, magazines, etc.

2. Digital marketing is a two-way communication process whereas Traditional marketing is a one-way communication process.

3. Digital marketing is useful when you want to reach a particular targeted audience whereas if we talk about Traditional marketing: though TV ads have a good reach but you cannot target a particular set of audience.

4. By using Digital marketing you can track your customer like your customer’s behavior; you can keep an eye on where the buyer is coming from, which is the most viewed product, who is interested in the product, etc whereas in Traditional marketing, tracking the customer is not possible.

5. In the case of Digital marketing consumers can skip the ads which they don’t find useful or interesting, as they are not bound to watch them whereas in the case of Traditional marketing consumers cannot skip the ads as they are bound to watch them.

3. IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION

Good communication skills are very important for every marketer. It does not mean sophisticated English. A communicator should have the skills to transfer his thoughts to the audience effectively. When you have a good quality product, you need to communicate to people about the product and if you communicate well then your product will sell itself.

How to develop good communication skills?

Write a lot. Write like you are talking to someone. It will enhance your communication skills. Joining a conversation that people already have in their minds is very important.

4. CATT MARKETING FUNNEL.

Here in the above diagram:

n= niche; niche is a particular category on which you will create content.

c= content; you can create content based on your selected niche. It should be of great quality. There are many types of content you can provide to your audience — YouTube videos, blogs (on Quora, Linkedin), live webinars, online courses, emails, etc.

a= attention; after you created your content, now it’s time to drive attention(traffic) to your content. There are several methods through which you can drive traffic to your content — SEO, SEM, paid ads/ social media ads (like Facebook ads, Instagram ads), Google ads, etc.

t= trust; after getting traffic to your content, it’s time to build trust with your audience. It’s most important for any marketer to build trust with his customers. When people trust you they will automatically come to you and buy your product. You can build trust with marketing automation and retargeting.

t= transaction; when people trust you, transaction will naturally happen. Transaction means your product is bought by your audience and you get the profit. You can invest this profit in creating content again based on your selected niche. This is how the whole CATT Marketing Funnel works.

Let’s understand this by example:

Suppose I started a website on which I will be selling the products. My niche is women’s ethnic wear. I will create good quality content for my niche: I will take some photos of my products and will write descriptions about them. Then I will try to get maximum traffic on my website using SEO. I will also put my products on Instagram and Facebook. After getting people’s attention to my products I will try to build trust with them. I will do so by offering them some really good discount on the first purchase and also free of delivery charges on the first order. I will also offer 15 days easy return and exchange service. In this way, I will build trust with them. Once the trust is built they will start purchasing the products from my website. (Always remember that when people trust you, transaction will naturally happen)

5. INTEGRATED DIGITAL MARKETING

It means a combination of several marketing strategies available today in which each marketing strategy serves a unique function. When a marketer uses only one module (for eg. email marketing) he doesn’t get success. To get better results one should use integrated marketing modules.

Let’s understand it better by an example:

Here I am using integrated digital marketing to reach my customers, build trust with them and transact with them.

Suppose I have started a website for my new fashion brand. I will create content for that. Then I will drive the attention of the targeted audience by running paid advertising campaigns/ social media campaigns. I will ask people to subscribe to my newsletter so that I can Email them the updates related to schemes/offers. In this way, I will be getting a lot of Email IDs. My email list will start increasing. So in future whenever any scheme/offer will be going on, on my website, these people will get to know and they will come back to my website through my Emails. And soon I will be listed on the search engine. Now people will not only come to my website through Email but also through search. The search engine will start ranking me higher. So in this way, I will build trust using Email Marketing. Then I will go ahead and transact with them i.e. sales and conversion.

6. PERSONAL BRANDING
